LESSON 8 : EIGHT NOTE PATTERNS
For those who didn't got enough of Eightnotes here's a lot more, to refresh your mind and to extend your playing...
This will be a lesson with less talk, but more patterns. Enjoy it!
Contents of lesson 8:
1) a pattern
2) Roxanne-like pattern
3) another Reggae-like 8-Note pattern
4) more eight notes of the same
5) a filled pattern
6) two combined patterns
7) a merengue-like pattern
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In fact you know how to count Eight-notes, but in case you forgot:
The basic pattern you count like this:
"One-plus-Two-plus-Three-plus-Four-plus"
All others are in fact derivations. Some may seem a little odd to you, or maybe not at all. So I hope everyone can pick up his favourite one...
You do have to count with regular intervals of time, for the rhythm 'only "grooves" if you learn it slowly and accurate... Don't let that stop you from having fun with it.. Practise makes perfect!

This last one could even be a part of the intro of the song "Roxanne", by The Police. It has Steward Copeland's reggae-feel.
